If you are currently studying Judaism, you may be interested to learn that we can now access two new journal titles via our library electronic database ‘Project Muse’.
The two titles are:
- Conserative Judaism: this journal is very much based on the ideological and theological aspects of Judaism. Currently only the latest issue of the journal (Vol61 2008-9) is accessible, but this will be added to each time a new issue is released.
- Jewish Quarterly Review : this american journal, first published in the late 1800’s, takes in a broad spectrum of jewish topics. On-line access via Project Muse currently allows you to view articles published from 2005 up to the present day.

The Library is now stamping standard loan books over the summer period. However some courses continue beyond the end of the semester and so reservations remain effective for the time being. Therefore books are subject to being recalled until the end of June.

Newly added to the library stock, we now have a new title ‘Authority in the Church’ also listed by the german translation ‘Autorität in der Kirche: theologische beitäge aus der Church of England, der Evangelisch-Lutherischen Kirche in Bayern und der katholischen Erzdiőzese Bamberg Authority in the Church’. The book includes contributions from Paul Collins, Steve Moyise, Allan k. Jenkins and Piotr Ashwin-Siejkowski which discuss various aspects of the christian church.
The book can be found on the library shelves at 262.8/AUT. Don’t forget if the book is on loan you can always place a reservation.

You might be interested to hear that we now have access to a new e-journal entitled ‘Logos: a Journal of Catholic Thought and Culture’.
This US journal covers many general christian themes and is issued four times a year by the University of St Thomas. Our current access is via the library electronic resource ‘Project Muse’. By login into ‘Project Muse’ you can view both the current issue and backdated editions dating from 2000.

The Chancellor of Chichester Cathedral,
Canon Dr. Anthony Cane, will be delivering a series of lectures on the subject of ‘God’s Storytellers’. The lectures, which are free, are to be held on Tuesday evenings commencing on the 28th April 2009. The talks will begin at 6.30pm in the Vicars’ Hall (located close to the cathedral cloisters) and will be based on texts by John Milton, C.S. Lewis, Philip Pulman and Richard Dawkins. If you are researching British religious or theological history you might be interested to learn that the proceedings of the Old Bailey are now available online. The documents date back until 1674 from 1913 and so cover a very interesting history.
