Just a quick reminder to all researchers (including staff) that your Subject Librarian is available for booked sessions to discuss your research needs including finding specialist material, accessing other libraries and archives, searching electronic databases and showing you ways to maintain a current awareness in your areas of interest.

Blue Placque – Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

Many of you I am sure will have heard of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. However, you might be interested to learn that he has been honoured with a ‘blue placque’ at Ore Place, a former Jesuit College in Hastings. Free Trial – Sage Journals

Once again the Journal publisher ‘Sage’ is offering a free trial to their online journals. The trial period is only until the end of October, however, but if you would like to take up this offer it is easy to sign up from the website http://www.sagepub.co.uk. The company offers a selection of over 500 online journals including some theological and religious titles.

‘Learning Journals’ by Jennifer Moon – now available on Dawsonera.

The book title ‘learning journals’ by the author Jennifer Moon apart from being available in paperback in the library is also now available as an electronic book on ’Dawsonera’ – one of the ‘My library’, ’electronic resources’ databases.  The book which is required for the current first year MA module with Graeme Smith and also I believe for one of the undergraduate modules, is available for you to access for a period of 1 or 2 days.  You can either choose to either read the book online or download the text.

Attention all those studying module THL213 – Interpreting the Old Testament.

I have just changed the theology ‘Collection of the Month’ situated on the first floor of the library.  The latest collection of books on display are covering the Old Testament books of Hosea, Amos and Isaiah 1 and 2, which I am sure will be of interest to your module.
